It’s that time of year again! That lull between Christmas and New Years when we take time out to reflect this past year.
Below are what I think are the top five movies of 2010!

Rewind: it’s (Mo)vember 2009 and we’re boarding a flight up to Calgary, AB enroute to Winnipeg, MB for the National Business School Conference. This was my first executive conference as I had missed WCLR last year. Not knowing what to expect, we arrive in Winnipeg during what was unusually warm weather for the Asper folks, yet uncomfortably cool relative to my west coast environment.

Immediately, you could identify the serious briefcase-holding easterners, the casual west coasters and “the crazies” from the Maritimes. After a few discussions, you could start to see who the gatekeepers were and why you’d want them on your side.

When it comes to smartphones, traditional thinking is that Blackberries are for business, while iPhoned are targeted at creatives and the consumer market. In the past, I could accept that, and to a large extent even now, this still holds true.

But I’m not a traditional thinker. With the upcoming release of Blackberry OS 6, now—more than ever—is a great time to buy a Blackberry.

I miss flying…
Looking through my Flickr collection for a shot of the WestJet Campus, I came across some in-flights shots from last summer. I haven’t flown since October and I’m unsure as to when I’ll have time to take the skies again!

Three months ago, I happily accepted a communications position with the University of Victoria for the summer as a coop work term. Never did I think that—instead of walking up the street to work—I’d be driving 1000 miles to Calgary, Alberta!
And here I am, two days from leaving for what should be four of the most exciting months of my life! I’ll be working as a Business Analyst in the Finance department as part of the internal consulting team.

The humbleness of Canadians has always amazed me. For some reason, most choose not to show their country’s pride; I do. Perhaps, it’s not that Canadians don’t show it, but rather they show it when no one is looking. I mean, we don’t “flaunt” it like our friends down south. We root for our nation in our own backyard, but never outside our borders.

Not exactly my favorite saying when I’m driving to your office. Cancellations (and life, in general) happen, and I get that. But what I don’t get is when I’m picking up my colleagues and about to drive to your office, you cancel on my thirty minutes before our meeting.
Professional decency. Where did it go?
